Responsibilities
The India Market Development, reporting to the VP of Corporate Strategy, will lead the corporate market development efforts in developing strategies and tactics for expanding Alvarion’s presence in service provider networks in India. Specifically, the successful candidate will be responsible for anticipating customer and industry trends, and identifying / driving customer (OEM, integrators, local manufacturing and service providers), industry and company relationships,. The candidate will perform deep dives into selected strategic accounts to setup. The candidate will also provide leadership and guidance to Alvarion’s sales teams and business units, and will be accountable for the overall success of the strategies and tactics developed.
Primary Responsibilities:
The primary focus of the job is to figure out Alvarion’s long term business approach to Indian market which includes creating and closing partnerships, with key OEMs, channel partners, SI/services partners, software development companies, etc. This position will recommend key strategies for ALVR market entry and setup. The position will focus on setting up infrastructure for ALVR success in long term (3 – 5 years).
• Identify and execute strategic OEM and channel partnerships on a regional basis. • Develop strategies and tactics to align with and penetrate new market segments in India. • Identify key relevant industry associations /events and WiMAX Forum activities. • Maintain relationships with WiMAX industry stakeholders including regulators, customers, vendors, system integrators, etc. • Work closely with sales to grow strategic accounts. • Provide guidance, leadership, and vision with respect to the market and business opportunities for the company in India. • Serve as the company’s primary source of knowledge and analysis for information related to technology trends, competition, market sizing, etc.
Qualifications:
• Extensive knowledge of the Telecommunications and Wireless industry with a particular emphasis on cellular operators. • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. • Analytical and strategic thinker with the ability to execute. • Knowledge of wireless technologies such as CDMA, GSM, or WiMAX.
Experience:
• 10+ years of experience in the Telecom / Wireless industries.
