We are presently seeking a Field Engineer to support our Global WiMAX and wireless broadband customers locations throughout the EMEA SADC region.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical on-site support on evolving technologies and applications.
- Perform pre-install audits, field trials, on-job training including review of all site preparations, equipment installation and commissioning and network operation activities.
- Participate in equipment demos, exhibition, etc.
- Be prepared for field assignment including system integration, management application support, functional analysis, capacity, maintenance, and debugging.
- Technical presentation – provide training on Alvarion equipment and relevant technologies.
- Ability to travel within the region.
Requirements:
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of Field engineering / Technical Support experience in an international company in the telecom industry.
- Understanding of network infrastructures and protocols.
- Deep knowledge in computer communications, LAN, core protocols (TCP/IP, Ethernet)
- Radio – an advantage.
- Wireless experience – an advantage.
- Presentation skills
- Advantage to candidates certified by known communications companies, such as Cisco, Juniper, etc.
- English at mother tongue level
- Willingness to travel frequently
